About Betsy Adams

With a Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University and a Masters in Early Childhood, I enjoyed a 31-year career in a suburban school district. I faced challenges, mentored teachers, and loved kids. The experiences I had in the classroom and those as a principal strengthened my resolve to write. Children need stories. People need encouragement. I am far from perfect and have much to learn, but I’m not done yet!  Life offers hope, and hope offers opportunity.  I am pursuing my dreams, learning to do new things, and encouraging those around me to do the same.

AND SO WE BEGIN…

I knew in seventh grade I would frame life with words. In a massive project, assigned by a brilliant but scary English teacher, I found my voice. Now decades later, I still thumb through that old project, contemplate the skills he instilled in me and write. I have published two children’s devotionals, and I pray they touch the lives of families in a unique way.

At 17, I packed my bags, grabbed my best friend, and headed to Baylor University. The adventures of our freshman year are still some of my favorite memories, and by the time we headed home for the summer, I had met the man who stole my heart. He has been part of every adventure since and remains my biggest fan. His encouragement to pursue my dreams has landed me here, with a desire to share life with all of you.

Together we raised two children, enjoyed successful careers in education, and retired early enough to savor a new season, flavored with family, friends, and travel. From the picturesque beaches of Hawaii to the breathtaking fjords in Alaska, we’ve combed the United States in appreciation of its beauty and history. However, watching my children raise their children has brought a new joy and purpose to my retirement years. Our lives are full with the antics of the newest generation.  This is what I want to capture. Life – the joy in loving others, the value in living big, and the adventure in pursuing dreams.
